The Bajong rice is a fragrant, exotic rice variety locally grown by the Iban tribe (Sea Dayaks) in the traditional paddy fields of Lubok Nibong, Betong. The Bajong rice has been awarded a Geographical Indication (GI) status with the Malaysian Intellectual Property Organization (MYIPO), a recognized body that authenticates the origin of produce for its distinctive qualities and limited availability.
